The Vintage Sports-Car Club have this week announced Premier Cru Racing, a series of races catering for original Pre-War racing cars which will feature marques such as ERA, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Bugatti. An initiative originally championed by Maserati specialists Sean and Laura Danaher and run on several occasions during VSCC meetings in recent seasons, the club has now moved to make the concept a fixture of their racing activities.
Grids will feature cars from the pioneering years of Grand Prix motorsport with original racers from the 1920s and 1930s eligible, modified ‘specials’ or sports car excluded from the new series. Within the grid most drivers will have something to race for with awards for Vintage, Post-Vintage, Two-Seater race cars and first Continental car home.
2015 will feature three Premier Cru Racing events, with 20-minute races at Silverstone on April 18th, Oulton Park on July 18th and Snetterton on the 27th of September. A dedicated area of the paddock will be reserved for cars and teams, providing a focus for racers and spectators alike.
