At Autosport International we took the opportunity to enjoy the cars Silverstone Auction had for sale, and piked out own favourites. Here our Paul Tarsey looks at a 1963 Austin Cooper S that was converted for racing and gained its FIA Appendix K passport in 2012.
The gorgeous Mini boasts a Swiftune prepared 1293cc engine, giving around 140BHP in what has to be a very lightweight car. The engine uses SU carburettors and single point ignition as specified by the FIA, and the car come with a spare set of wheels.
We looked at the car pre-sale, and in Saturday afternoon’s auction it went for £41,625, we believe into the hands of a well-known racing family!
