This weekend offers up a few options for events to enjoy in the historic world, though geographical limitations might rule out taking in more than one!
The fourth annual Taupō Historic GP takes place at New Zealand’s Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, with a full timetable featuring seven categories of historic saloons and single-seaters, including the hugely popular SAS Autoparts MSC NZ F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series, with a strong field of Formula 5000 entry.
Also worthy of note is the 70th anniversary of the Austin 7 Club, who are based in Moorabbin, Victoria in Australia and are celebrating at their club rooms on Saturday afternoon. The Austin 7 Club run the Historic Winton event (pictured below), the oldest of its kind in Australia.
In the UK the VSCC start their 2020 programme with their New Tear Driving Test at Brooklands in Surrey, with an entry of over 60 pre-war cars that will tackle a dozen different tests around courses featuring the famed banking and Test Hill. The event starts at 10am, which is when gates open to the public, and run through to 4pm with lunch break.
