The Time is Right for Chopard at Amelia island
Chopard has been named as the official timekeeper of the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. This five-day automotive charitable event is held each year during the second weekend in March at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island in Amelia Island, Florida, with the all important judging on the afternoon of March 10 being brought to via our exclusive live stream in association with our broadcast partner Reliable Carriers. Chopard having a long-lasting relationship with the Mille Miglia, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and Porsche Motorsport, it was therefore quite natural to associate the brand with this extraordinary gathering of vehicles.
On this occasion, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance will honor Jacky Ickx who has been part of the Chopard family for a long time. Along with his friend Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard co-president, who shares the same passion for car racing emotions, he has run the Mille Miglia almost every year since 1989. As a long-term and supportive friend of the Maison, Jacky Ickx has also given his name to numerous special editions of watches within Chopard’s Classic Racing collections.
Chopard’s Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, and Jacky Ickx have a long-lasting friendship and Chopard has created a watch to celebrate Amelia’s 2019 honoree, the Mille Miglia Jacky Ickx Edition V in steel.
