Spa Summer Classic Adds Two New Events

Two invitation events have been added to the schedule of the Spa Summer Classic (June 22nd, 23rd and 24th), the Spa Ardennes Challenge and the Spa One Hour, the latter a race usually held in September at the Belgian circuit.

The Spa Ardennes Challenge will be two 40-minute races for a wide variety of Classic Sports cars, GT's, Touring and Saloon cars, built between the '50s and the '80s. Each race will feature a compulsory one-minute pitstop for fuelling and/or a driver change, with cars running on treaded tyres and complying to a noise limit. Organisers are targeting cars from organisations such as the Crosslé Racing Drivers’ Club, the AR Motorsport Morgan Challenge and the Classic Sports Car Club.

The One Hour race is for Touring and GT’s cars of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s - though as is often the case, Caterhams are prohibited! The aim is a relaxed atmosphere in the style of meetings of old, with competitors entering the stand-alone race for the sheer pleasurer of racing on a classic circuit.

Cars must be sliced to 108db and running on treaded tyres, and will be on rack for a thirty minute qualifying session and 61-minute race featuring a compulsory pitstop.
