SascoSports Sponsor HSR International/American Challenge
Officials from Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) and SascoSports, a premier race tire dealer and historic and vintage racing preparation and restoration shop in the U.S., announced SascoSports as the new title sponsor of the SascoSports International/American Challenge, one of the most popular showcase races held on the majority of HSR race event weekends.
The new partnership between HSR and SascoSports continues a long and established relationship between the two organizations that saw SascoSports most recently serve as the Official Tire supplier of the 2015 HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona presented by IMSA. SascoSports has also been a fixture in the HSR paddock for decades, offering their race and championship winning services to competitors and a welcoming and open atmosphere for all based on their longstanding commitment of "Racers Helping Racers."
"We at SascoSports are excited to become the title sponsor of the SascoSports International/American Challenge and to become even more involved with HSR," said SascoSports President Dave Handy. "We have been supporting HSR events with tire service and customer race cars since HSR's inception in the late 1970s and are thrilled to become even more involved. With the addition of Hoosier to our great range of tires, which also includes Avon, Goodyear, Dunlop and Toyo, we are able to supply and support almost all of the competitors at an HSR event. A longtime favorite of HSR competitors, the SascoSports International/American Challenge is a production-car showcase of big-bore American-made iron racing head-to-head with top sports cars from Europe and beyond. The all-out sprints see competitors race for the overall win in addition to top-three honors for the International and American classes and - in a new addition for 2018 - an all-Porsche division.
Another new-for-2018 highlight is the addition of the popular Sommet des Legendes race weekend, July 12 - 15, at Circuit Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada to the SascoSports International/American Challenge schedule of events.
