The Oulton Park Gold Cup is one of the classic events in British motorsport. First run in 1954 and won by Stirling Moss, it was often run as a nin-championship Formula One race but was also run for sportscars, Formula 2, Formula 5000, Formula 3000 and incongruously as a rounds of the British Touring Car Championship and British GT Championship.
With previous winners such as Moss (on five occasions), Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart and John Surtees is it perhaps appropriate that is it now a popular historic race meeting and the HSCC have put together a 32-race calendar over the three days of track activity - as well as a host of off-track entertainment.
