A new biography of Scots racer Jim Crawford would be a great addition to any Christmas list, and signed copies are still available from author Kevin Guthrie. Crawford had a wide ranging career that saw him start by rallying a Mini, via several single-seater formulae contest two Formula One Grand Prix for Lotus before racing in the US including rides with several teams in CART races and the Indianapolis 500 in particular.
In a very limited edition run of 300-books, copies of Jim Crawford - The Life of a Modest Racing Hero are still available via the ‘Jim Crawford Biography’ FaceBook page or from Simon Lewis Transport Books - http://shop.simonlewis.com/jim-crawford--the-life-of-a-modest-racing-hero-guthrie-2017-24288-p.asp
Telling the tale of an often overlooked British racer, the 140-page book is illustrated with period images and includes input form Bob Fernley, a long-time associate of Crawford, who he described as ‘my favourite driver’.
