The popular and exclusive - if that isn’t a contradiction - Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille Concours d’Etat is set for its fourth staging next year and will contain a strong motorsport theme in the newly announced 15-classes.
There will a category for chain driven shirts and racing cars, but partially eye-catching will be the four classes devoted to Le Mans Ferraris in the 70th anniversary year of the Italian marque. The classes cover two time periods, 1949 to 1962, which should include some classic GTS and sports cars and then 1963 up to 1974, which should take in some classic competition cars raging from the 250 LM, through the 512S and M to the 312PBs of the early seventies.
Each of the Ferrari time periods is sub-divided into open and closed cars, and the site of the Italian cars on the Le Nôtre lawns in the grounds of the Château de Chantilly vying for the 'Best in Show' crown should be a highlight of the September event.
