The Historic Sports Car Club has launched the HSCC Hero Award for the Club member, series or championship making the most outstanding contribution to the community or motor racing during this time of crisis.
The HSCC Hero Award is designed to recognise the work, whether voluntary or professional, done by so many people during the current COVID 19 crisis. With the support of the Club’s sponsors and partners, it is intended to offer a range of awards, which will be presented at the annual awards dinner at Sywell in November.
Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC said: “Our sport is quite rightly on shut-down at the moment, but Club members will still be active in many ways for the good of the community. We’d like to be able to show our appreciation for those who are working to help others at this most difficult of times.
“We are a community brought together by a shared passion and we have a number of older competitors and officials who are presently considered to be at greater risk. So, we felt it would be appropriate to recognise those making a major contribution.”
As well as the Hero Award, the Club is inviting any member who may need support through the crisis to contact Andy Dee-Crowne. “We have members all across the country and all over the world. If any of our members need help, we will try and find someone in their area who can give the support that is needed, while respecting Government directives.”
