Free Testing on Offer at Silverstone Classic Media Day
- 11 Feb 2018
Competitors gearing up for another record-breaking Silverstone Classic (20-22 July) are once again being offered the welcome opportunity to test their cars in advance… and for free!
Staged at the ‘Home of British Motor Sport’, the Silverstone Classic is the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival, attracting more than 1,000 race entries. The packed programme features the full spectrum of historic motor sport, and this summer’s added highlights will include spectacular new showdowns for Masters Endurance Legends plus the return of Tin Top Sunday to celebrate 60 years of the massively popular MSA British Touring Car Championship.
All those competing in July’s extravaganza are being given the chance to fine-tune their cars and/or familiarise themselves with the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit on Wednesday 2nd May.
The curtain-raiser will include morning and afternoon test sessions segregated into classes with an extended break at lunchtime to enable a series of event photo opportunities and other publicity-generating activities on-track.
“It’s really no surprise that the provision of a free test day on the Silverstone Grand Circuit has always been extremely popular with our competitors as it gives them a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the Classic later in the summer,” said Nick Wigley, CEO of event organiser Goose Live Events.
Understandably, the chance for free testing at Silverstone has proved highly popular in recent years and event organisers are expecting the limited number of available places to be snapped up swiftly.
Entries – strictly restricted to those competing at the Classic – will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and application forms are available via the official event website.
