While any form of car theft is reprehensible, losing your race car has to be particularly unpleasant so we would ask anyone who can to help out Paraparamo (New Zealand)-based John Rapley who had his Formula Junior Brabham BT2 stolen from his driveway last weekend (July 23rd-24th).
The car was in a converted caravan trailer, and it is thought that it was in fact the caravan that was the target of the thieves, who may not have even known the race car was inside. The trailer is a cream coloured ‘pop-top’ caravan, registered R970S.
The BT2 was designed for the 1962 season and features a tubular steel spaceframe chassis with fibre-glass bodywork. John's car is chassis number FJ-13-62, and if you see the car or are aware of it being offered for sale, please contact the Formula Junior Historic Racing Association via www.formulajunior.com.
