For Sale: Formula Two Surtees TS15

A final look round for 2016 of the many classic race cars currently on sale offers up many gems, but the car that caught our eye is this lovely 1973 Formula Two Surtees TS15.
Developed from the successful TS10 with which Mike Hailwood won races in 1972 and claimed the European title, the TS15 was used by the works Surtees squad and also sold to privateers, but lost out to the Marches which had an exclusive deal to run BMW powerplants - the TS15s running Ford engines. The car up for sale is TS15-07, which was run by Bob Gerrard’s team for Bob Salisbury but bears the livery of the Matchbox-backed works cars which were raced by Derek Bell and Jochen Mass - the latter taking second in the European championship behind March’s Jean-Pierre Jarier.
The rebuilt Surtees, with a fresh Cosworth BDG installed, has FIA papers and is eligible for the HSCC’s Derek Bell Trophy series - it is a past class winner. Available from Cheshire Classic Cars full details are at:
